I've never considered myself an internet writer. Blogging!? that isn't me!
Despite desperately desiring to express my opinion on various online articles or posts,
I would hold back, rarely, if ever, commenting. One day after finishing a novel,
I asked myself, "what is it that I do?" My answer, "I read books and like to
talk about them." Given my family and friends know this and tire of listening to
me, I needed to find a forum to speak freely of my first love
"books." Thus, this blog is born.
As the Founder and Executive Director of a teen literacy program, most of the
books I review are geared toward middle school and high school students; however,
occasionally I will review adult books. The books reviewed may have been
on the market for years, recently published, or pending release. Being a member
of Blink's (an imprint of Zondervan) Street Team, I will be reviewing several of their books. Confession: I love discovering a book that escaped notice. Most often, these obscure finds are the best reads. Each review will contain a summary, which I may compose, copy from Goodreads, or the book jacket; and many may be spiced with personal anecdotes. All reviews are based solely on my own thoughts, feelings, and opinions. Although I'm partial to historical fiction, reviews span all genres.
My goal is to help enhance youth's pleasure reading
choices by suggesting excellent reads. I hope that while browsing books to purchase on the internet, at a bookstore, thrift store, yard
sale, or where ever you may be that my blog assists you in
making informed decisions. Be sure to share this blog with your
children, students, parents, friends, and co-workers.
