Two days ago, I stumbled across the 2016 TBR Pile Reading Challenge on Bookish Lifestyle. I'm so excited to have happened upon this blog. The challenge aligns perfectly with my year's reading goals. I chose the middle challenge option, First Kiss (21-30 books), however, I may adjust my challenge to a higher level based on how many books I read off my TBR list throughout the year. Half of the sixty books I plan to read for my Goodreads Challenge will serve as my TBR Pile Challenge reads. All books read for the TBRPC are among the plethora of books overtaking my home or on my Kindle. Although each book read for the TBRPC will be reviewed, all of them will not be posted on my blog. Since I couldn't figure out how to create a collage of all the bookcovers, here's a link to my Goodreads challenge picks bookshelf.
If you want to knock some books off your TBR pile, list, or shelves, I invite you to the challenge.
Here's to a year full of amazing reading adventures!
What are some of the books you plan to read to kick off the new year?

Update: 3/18/17
Pray forgive me for giving a late update on my challenge.
Out of the thirty books I'd planned to read, I read five and started three. I'm not marking them as DNF because I do plan to finish reading them. It just didn't happen in 2016. I was supposed to write a review for each book read, but that didn't happen. I did manage to write two mini-reviews that are posted on Goodreads (links below).
Completed books:
1. If I Speak True - Jessica L. Brooks
2. Just Above My Head - James Baldwin
3. My Boyfriend Merlin - Priya Ardis
4. Nightmares - Jason Segel & Kirsten Miller
5. The Ghost Bride - Yangsze Choo
Books Started:
1. Altered - Gennifer Albin
2. The Mis-Education of the Negro - Carter G. Wilson
3. The Mists of Avalon - Marion Zimmer Bradley (last update: 11/11/16 on p. 374 out of 876. Almost halfway done, yay!)
Hi there! Great post! I also plan to get back to blogging after not really blogging for the past year and a half. I started off with the 5th wave this year, which was okay, but the followup, The Infinite sea was "infinitely" better :-) I also aim to get through all of my TBR shelf which was filled prior to having my daughter, and never read after she was born! Thanks for stopping by! Christina @ Ensconced in Lit
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten to The 5th Wave yet, but it is a member of my waiting-to-be-read list. Tackling a TBR shelf can be tricky, for every one book read, two more takes its place. :) Thanks for commenting!
